Why does sleeping in on the weekend trigger a migraine?
Okay so I've been noticing this for months and finally have data to back it up. Weekday wake time is around 7am, Saturday I drift to 9:30 or 10 and by lunch my head is going. Honestly I thought it was the wine on Friday but I had a few totally dry weekends recently and the same thing happened, just a softer version. It's the lie-in itself.
What finally helped was setting a Saturday alarm only 45 min later than weekdays and then napping in the afternoon if I'm still tired. Sounds joyless but I've gone from a Saturday attack almost every other week to one in the last six. Anyone else figured out a sleep-in window that works without wrecking the day?

funny because mine was Friday night, not Saturday morning. weekday i'm offline by 10, Friday i'd be on the laptop til midnight watching stuff. monitor brightness was the bigger culprit than the staying up. dropped screen brightness 30% after 8pm on a schedule, no other changes, and the Saturday attacks halved. your alarm trick is more disciplined than mine, i should probably try both.

ngl this is freaking me out a bit bc i sleep in til noon on weekends 😭 wait is this the let-down thing people talk about?? my weekdays are exam stress on full blast and then saturday my body just kind of collapses. tried your 45 min alarm trick last weekend and still got hit by lunch tbh, but i think my screens were the bigger issue, i'd been on my laptop til like 2am friday cramming. moved the charger across the room so i actually put the phone down earlier and saturday this week was the first in three weekends without an attack so maybe it's both things having to land at once??
