Why do I always get a migraine the day after a big deadline?
is post-deadline migraine actually a real pattern or am i pattern-matching my own life? i've had 4 in the last 3 months and every single one landed the day after a big work push wrapped. felt too clean to be coincidence.
my risk gauge was already amber Friday afternoon of the last one even though sleep and HRV both looked fine that week. so something was building that wasn't obvious from the wearable side. asked the chatbot and it pointed at stress-drop, but it could just as easily have been the four late nights of screen time i was running to hit the deadline. hard to untangle the two.
anyone else notice attacks cluster right after crunch, and did you ever pin down which piece of the crunch is the actual trigger?

Post-deadline pattern is real for me too, and my numbers say it's the crash side, not the crunch itself. My stress index stayed elevated for the whole push then dropped off a cliff the Saturday after, and that's the day the attack landed. Screen time was ugly during the week but the days where I had late screens without the stress plunge afterwards didn't cluster attacks the same way.
What helped was tapering instead of stopping cold. Blocked the Saturday morning after a deadline for something low-key active rather than sleeping in, and the post-push attacks dropped from every deadline to maybe one in three.
